ESG

Our ESG Framework

At Vindr we strive to be at the forefront of the renewable energy sector, driving positive change through the development, construction, ownership, operation, and maintenance of power plants that generate clean and reliable electricity. Recognizing the pivotal role electricity plays in the wellbeing and economic growth of the communities we serve, we are committed to increasing access to clean, affordable, and renewable electricity in Northern Europe.

At Vindr, sustainability is not only an objective but also a fundamental aspect of our purpose, integrated into all our activities. By generating clean and reliable electricity, we not only power homes and businesses but also foster positive economic and environmental change in Northern Europe.

We recognize that a commitment to ESG targets, significant in its own right, must be accompanied by effective governance to ensure transparency and accountability. It is our obligation to our stakeholders to report progress in accordance with industry standards relative to such targets.

While sustainability has always been intrinsic to our output, given the nature of our work and identity, we are also signatories to the United Nations Global Compact. In 2024, we will prepare our first ESG report, further solidifying our dedication to aligning our business practices with universally accepted principles in the areas of human rights, labor, environment, and anti-corruption.

Environmental leadership

Our commitment to environmental leadership is at the core of our renewable energy projects:

Clean and Reliable Energy Generation

Vindr provides clean, reliable electricity to power communities. Through our power plants, we contribute significantly to reducing carbon emissions and advancing the transition to sustainable energy sources.

Technology-Driven Sustainability

Using cutting-edge technologies, we optimize our power plants for local conditions, ensuring efficient energy production with minimal environmental impact. Our early-stage planning incorporates governance and technology to enhance the sustainability of our operations.

Social Responsibility

As a key player in the renewable energy sector, our social responsibility extends beyond clean energy generation to community development:

Local Value Creation

Vindr is committed to creating as much local value as possible. From sourcing materials locally to providing skills training, we aim to build lasting relationships and contribute to the well-being of the communities where we operate.

Local access to Clean Electricity

Our mission extends beyond profit to providing access to clean, affordable, and renewable electricity. We actively work towards increasing accessibility in our communities in Northern Europe for local value creation.

Governance

Solid Financial Framework

We prioritize a robust financial framework that aligns with our sustainability goals. This includes a zero-tolerance policy for corruption and stringent adherence to local regulations, environmental standards, and community expectations during the early stages of project development. By investing significantly in governance planning, we fortify the financial underpinning of our initiatives, contributing to their long-term viability.

Human Resources and Employee Welfare

Central to our governance strategy is the well-being of our employees. We emphasize a commitment to human resources practices that prioritize employee welfare, fostering a work environment that supports both personal and professional growth. Our governance framework, which includes a zero-tolerance stance on corruption, ensures that our workforce thrives as an essential element of our sustainable business model.

ESG Management

In managing our ESG initiatives, we uphold the highest ethical standards throughout our renewable energy business operations. Conducting business transparently and with integrity, we build trust with stakeholders and instill confidence in the communities we serve. Our governance approach, including a zero-tolerance policy for corruption, facilitates the effective management of ESG considerations, ensuring that our actions align with our commitment to sustainability and responsible energy practices.

We consider community and local government engagement as an opportunity to develop better projects.

Too often infrastructure projects are built from the top down, without taking the local context properly into account, and looking at the local community as an obstacle to the project. That is why Vindr invest in planning our projects at an early stage, together with the communities and local government. We are developing projects to operate them, since we are here for the long run, it is essential that we get it right from the beginning
