Praviņas Solar Park is a solar energy project combined with a battery storage system, designed to strengthen Latvia’s renewable energy production and grid stability. The park will consist of more than 40,000 solar panels with a total installed capacity of 30 MWp and an estimated annual production of approximately 35 GWh of clean electricity.
The project is notable as the first solar park in Latvia with an approved 110 kV T-connection to the transmission grid by Augstsprieguma tīkls, enabling efficient integration into the national electricity system. The combination of solar power and energy storage ensures more stable energy delivery and supports the transition to a more resilient and flexible energy system.
Local Collaboration and Impact
The solar park is located in a rural area of Tukums municipality, beneath an existing 110 kV transmission line. As part of the project development, the surrounding environment and local infrastructure will be improved, contributing to better land use and overall area quality.
During operation, the maintenance and servicing of the solar park will primarily involve local contractors and businesses, supporting local employment and economic activity. The project will also contribute to municipal revenues and strengthen local energy production, helping Tukums municipality play an active role in Latvia’s green energy transition.
